Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, we focus on identifying and addressing the root cause of illness. Our services include acupuncture, chiropractic care, internal medicine, massage therapy, and herbal/nutritional counseling — supported by an in-house herbal pharmacy offering a wide selection of supplements.

History & Mission

In 1989, Dr. Stephen Tsai and his wife Mimi founded East West Medical Group in Fullerton, believing it was God's will to build a clinic rooted in integrative medicine. The practice began modestly — a 600-square-foot office with Mimi managing operations and Dr. Tsai treating patients. As word spread through patient referrals, the clinic grew, eventually drawing other physicians who came to learn about integrative medicine and incorporate it into their own practices.

Together, this shared purpose became the clinic's mission:

"To offer high quality healthcare by integrating Eastern and Western medical techniques and philosophy, and to create a comprehensive care plan for every patient that focuses on the healing of mind, body, and spirit."

Over nearly 40 years of practice, Dr. Tsai has treated tens of thousands of patients and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the St. Jude Memorial Foundation. His distinctive integration of Western medical expertise with Eastern holistic philosophy has earned him recognition throughout the community, drawing patients from well beyond Orange County. He also established an educational program called the International College of Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

In 2008, the clinic relocated to its current home: a 10,000-square-foot facility near the heart of Downtown Fullerton. Since then, East West Medical Group has grown into a multidisciplinary primary care center, with a full team of medical doctors, chiropractors, and staff united by a shared commitment to holistic, integrated care.
