Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine dates back to the 3rd century BC and, like acupuncture, is grounded in the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine — restoring balance and the healthy flow of qi (vitality) through the body. Rather than only treating symptoms, it places strong emphasis on preventing illness before it starts.

Herbal formulas are personalized: your practitioner reviews your health history and current medications before prescribing, with safe dosage adjustments available for children and pregnant patients. When prescribed by a trained practitioner, herbal medicine is generally very safe, with side effects and adverse reactions rare compared to pharmaceutical alternatives.

We've also developed our own line of herbal products, including our Wellness Blend Weight Loss Tea. These are available in-office for purchase.

Internal Medicine

Our internal medicine physicians provide primary care for adults — routine checkups, preventive screenings, and ongoing management of chronic conditions. They diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, including cardiac, pulmonary, renal, gastrointestinal, and rheumatologic issues, and coordinate care alongside our acupuncture, chiropractic, and herbal medicine providers allowing your treatment plan to work together rather than in separate silos.

Internists complete years of additional training beyond medical school focused specifically on adult health, equipping them to handle everything from common concerns to complex, overlapping conditions — and to know when a referral to a specialist is the right next step.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the body's structure — primarily the spine — and its function. Using hands-on spinal adjustments, our chiropractors work to correct alignment issues, relieve pain, and support the body's natural ability to heal.

Your first visit includes a health history and physical exam focused on the spine, with X-rays if needed, followed by a personalized treatment plan. Follow-up visits may combine spinal adjustments with complementary approaches like heat/ice therapy, electrical stimulation, guided exercise, and lifestyle counseling.

Chiropractic care is commonly used for back, neck, and shoulder pain, headaches and migraines, whiplash, and joint conditions, and research shows it's especially effective for low-back pain.

Acupuncture & Cupping

Acupuncture is a 3,000-year-old technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, recognized by the NIH since 1997 for its safety and effectiveness across a wide range of conditions. It's now covered by many insurance plans and is most commonly used for pain relief.

Treatment involves inserting fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body to stimulate natural healing — sometimes enhanced with heat, pressure, or gentle electrical stimulation. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this is understood as restoring the smooth flow of energy, or qi, through the body's pathways; modern research shows it also affects the nervous, immune, and digestive systems directly.

Cupping is often paired with acupuncture in the same session, though it can also be done on its own. Small glass cups create gentle suction on the skin, drawing the skin and surface muscle upward — a sensation most patients find relaxing rather than painful. It helps loosen tight muscles, increase blood flow, and calm the nervous system, and is commonly used for back and neck pain, stiff muscles, migraines, anxiety, fatigue, and rheumatism.

The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture as effective for over two dozen conditions, most commonly:

  • Pain & musculoskeletal issues — back, neck, and shoulder pain, sciatica, arthritis, tennis elbow

  • Digestive & nausea-related issues — morning sickness, IBS-type symptoms, acute gastritis

  • Headaches & stress-related conditions — migraines, anxiety, insomnia

  • Women's health — menstrual pain, fertility support, labor induction
